Our vision of responsible tourism

At Taghazout Life, we want every stay to have a positive impact on our guests, our village and the environment.
Our aim is to run a welcoming surf camp that respects the ocean, supports local producers and keeps waste to a minimum.

What sustainable tourism means for Taghazout Life

For us, sustainable tourism means reducing our impact on nature while contributing to the local economy. In practice, this means choosing local products, offering plant‑based options, saving water and energy, and putting simple everyday actions in place together with our team and our guests.

What we are doing

Energy

We use LED light bulbs and solar panels to reduce our energy consumption and environmental impact. We also encourage our team and guests to switch off lights and devices when they are not needed.

Water

Water is a precious resource here. We filter our water so that guests can refill their reusable bottles directly at the hostel, which greatly reduces the need for plastic bottles.

Food & local products

Whenever possible, we choose fresh ingredients from local producers and offer plant‑based options, supporting the village economy while lowering our footprint.

Waste reduction

We pay attention to limiting waste in our daily operations by avoiding single‑use plastic and adopting more responsible habits in the house. Every small action helps keep Taghazout and its beaches cleaner.

Local & animal welfare commitment

Most of our team members are from the village, which contributes to local employment. We are also committed to animal welfare: a rescued cat now lives at the hostel and we donate part of our funds to a local animal protection association.

What we are doing

• Bring and use a reusable water bottle to refill on site
• Be mindful of water and electricity use during their stay
• Choose our plant‑based meal options whenever they can
• Join the beach clean‑ups we organise with volunteers
• Respect the village animals and, if they wish, support the charity we collaborate with
