5 years of Taghazout Life: a big thank you to our community

This year, Taghazout Life turns five, and we wanted to celebrate it with more than just another social media post. Five years of welcoming travellers from all over the world, sharing surf sessions, rooftop dinners, sunsets and late‑night laughs in the house. To mark the occasion, we invited our guests to a big BBQ at the hostel – a simple, warm evening that perfectly reflects the spirit in which Taghazout Life was created.

From the beginning, the idea was clear: bring together a love for surfing, the special energy of Taghazout and the desire to connect with people from everywhere. Season after season, the house has filled with memories, late‑night conversations, first waves stood up on, and friendships that often continue long after the trip ends. The goal is still the same today: to offer a place that feels like home, whether guests come for a week of surf coaching, a yoga retreat or just a few days in the sun to switch off.

Over the years, Taghazout Life has become more than just a surf hostel. Our mission is to create surf trips for all levels, in a friendly and laid‑back atmosphere. From first‑timers to more experienced surfers, we always try to balance coaching in the water with free time, yoga, rooftop chilling and shared moments over tea, tajines or a BBQ like the one for this anniversary. These are the moments that matter most – the talks after the sessions, the friendships that carry on around the world, the messages you send us once you are back home.

We owe these five years to everyone who has walked through our door, to the teams who have put their energy into the house, and to the local community we’ve been working with from the start. Thank you to the surfers who caught their very first wave here, to those who keep coming back each winter, to the yogis, digital nomads and travellers who brought their energy into Taghazout Life. Your trust makes us want to keep growing this place while preserving what gives it a soul: simplicity, sharing and a deep love for the ocean.
